Silence of WarIn memory of Robert H Pilk KIA, This Mission June 19, 1970 RVN Over the jungles filled with war another mission once more. Only days away until my tour is done my thoughts shattered if by the thunder's roar, life flashes by as I decend in the flames of hell to the jungle's floor. The silence of day and into the night were the sounds of war, as life leaves me, my mother stands smiling at heaven's doors. The voices I hear, be it friend or foe? My heart filled with fear. "You're okay",a voice would say, "You're going home,It's not your day." Thank you God for letting me stay, and ending the silence of that war. Ronald Neal Strickland Copyright ©2001 Ronald Strickland
Glority In GraniteVIETNAM VETERANS AND FAMILIES Some I know, the rest only by name. some of you were brought home. some of you never came. on this granite bares the name of those who gave the most. those who returned remembers with tears. those who's lost are among these names lives without you aren't the same.to see your names is a remembrance of a life you gave. son's daughter's and friend's are among these names. the price you paid and the life you gave.how glorious be those who's names are placed at this quiet place of reflection.
